Beau Shenkenberg
🚀About Me
I am a recent college graduate from the University of Northern Colorado with a Political Science Degree. My whole life I have lived with Aspergers and OCD and these experiences have given me unique perspectives of the world. I seek to change society through social science research . The kind of research I would love to take part in is addressing the autistic unemployment rate and research ways to bring opportunities for this underserved community. Skills that I have are customer service skills, research skills, voter contact, canvassing and I have also served as a Legislative Aide at the Colorado State Capitol for the 2023 legislative session. I do like to dress professionally, interact with other people in a polite and delightful manner, and have tasks be concrete and routine. I would be open to integrating my career path of research with art and design. I am also a strong visual learner and visualizations are essential for organization and a smooth workflow. I would love to explore opportunities in the art and design field as I am currently pursuing my animation certificate at Aims Community College.
Ideal Workplace Values
I enjoy working outside and doing research. I like to interact with the public and prefer a role with social interaction with different people. I like to stay physically active while being able to engage in intellectually driven work and discussions. I also enjoy hearing other people's opinions on a wide variety of subject matters. I prefer to work in an environment where it is predictable and not constantly changing where assignments are concrete and instructions are black and white. Whenever I make mistakes, I prefer to have the opportunity to understand what my mistake was and then how to properly correct the mistake. I also prefer repetitive work that is highly detailed and allows me to utilize my hyper focus and deep thinking. I would also be open to artistic opportunities to allow me to explore the art field and utilize my visual abilities associated with Aspergers. I love visual arts and have an exceptional ability to utilize my vision in the creative fields. I am also a strong visual learner and visualization is essential for me to be successful.

Neuroexceptional Talents
I have Aspergers Syndrome and many gifts that are currently being underutilized due to traditional barriers and lack of understanding of how this psychiatric condition works in the workplace. Aspergers has given me many exceptional strengths which can contribute to society in unconventional ways. My unique abilities include an exceptional memory for topics of special interest, research about topics of special interest, and the ability to utilize my hyper focus. I also can be very productive when tasks are repetitive and do not have to switch between tasks in a predictable and unchanging environment. I also can have exceptional writing skills once I have my confidence and traditional barriers are removed to allow me to be an efficient and competent worker. I also am more productive whenever I am physically active rather than sedentary, I am able to focus better and be more efficient whenever I am moving. Other strengths I have are endurance and resilience, whenever I have had challenges in life I would endure and complete my commitment.
