DEENA MUNEESAMY
She/her
I am a fully bilingual professional with over 10 years of experience and understanding of the financial services sector on the African continent and Canada. I started out my career in Mauritius in 2011 as an Equity Research Analyst and Investment Portfolio Advisor in the Stockbroking and Wealth Management industries, up until 2018. Following my immigration to Canada in 2019, I decided to reorient my career towards the intersection of Operations and Technology within the financial services industry, as a Business Analyst/Business Consultant, to allow for my transition to a new country in a value adding role. I completed the Comprehensive Business Analysis course at the McGill University in 2021, which allowed me to transition to a Business Analyst role within the Project Management Office of the retail banking arm of Desjardin Bank, where I lead the business analysis tasks for a credit card portfolio sale project and a mortgage lending process transformation project I was then hired as a Consultant/Contractor at PSP Investments in the same year and had the experience of working on a CRM system deployment project within a faster delivery deadline environment (3 months) and where I had to showcase leadership skills in interfacing constantly between technical and non-technical teams at the level of Private Markets line of business. At both firms, I was able to develop my capabilities to navigate ambiguous project environments with limited knowledge of the business processes and companies’ culture.
Ideal Workplace Values
The ideal workplace for me will be an environment that promotes sincerely divergence in race, ethnicity, religious beliefs, sexual orientation and aptitudes. I would expect management to take a strong stance against any sort of discrimination that occurs within the workplace and ensures fairness in conflict resolutions. Also, ideally I would want an environment that can provide the flexibility to work from home at least twice per week.
