Lain Lopez
They/them
My name is Lain Lopez. I've lived in New York all my life, and I just graduated from Mercy College with a bachelor’s degree in Design and Animation. During my time at Rockland Community College, I have gained working experience in Autodesk Maya and the Adobe Creative Suite. After that, I worked at Garnerville Arts and Industrial Center in partnership with Concept print creating animations and motion graphics for social media advertisements and designing an event map for their annual beer festival called L.A.B Fest (added to portfolio section). I worked on logos, graphics and merch designs for a potential non-profit: We Love Mongrels. I have the ability to assimilate and deliver real-time information about artists and hosting artist events, while also adding photographs for the social media of the art gallery - specifically my experience with the Joanne Artman Gallery in Chelsea New York. Most recently, I worked remotely creating an animated segment for an upcoming indie superhero movie called The People's Joker. You can see the scenes I worked on in my reel (added to portfolio section). I am also passionate about my volunteer work as a social issues activist. I have played a role in connecting people and advocates on various legal issues and initiated involvement with congressional change initiatives around protective status for refuges and other legal issues. One experience is with Grassroots Law Project engaging in remote text bank work.
Ideal Workplace Values
When it comes to working, I'm able to work best in environments where I can have absolute focus. All I need for this is an environment that isn't too loud or too busy, and where I'm allowed to wear headphones when not otherwise interacting with people. Also, I prefer to take notes in order to remember things I might otherwise forget.

I can quickly recognize whether or not I have an interest in and/or am good at something, and what I'll be able to improve. I'm good at listening and understanding directions. If I have even a minor interest in something, I can memorize a multitude of details about it and absorb relevant information. In the same way, I enjoy doing research along with finding questions and answers to those questions. I enjoy finding the best solutions to problems. I can work for very long periods at a time with focus and no need to walk around or get up. I enjoy learning about, coming up with, and utilizing new and more efficient ways of doing things.
